La Grande Année käytetään kokonaan tammitynnyreissä ja samppanjaa on kellarikypsytetty yli kaksi kertaa appellaation vaatiman ajan. Bollinger valmistaa La Grande Année -samppanjaa vain parhaimpina vuosina ja ainoastaan Premier ja Grand Cru -viinitarhojen rypäleistä. La Grande Année 2014:n rypäleet tulevat 19 eri kylältä, Pinot Noir pääosin Aÿ'sta ja Verzenay'sta ja Chardonnay Chouillysta ja Oirysta.
